The Beatles: Rock Band

The Beatles: Rock Band is a good game with some things that a few might wish were different. The game only has 45 songs which kinda sucks, though not as much as the fact that none of the Rock Band DLC (Downloadable Content) songs are playable. One thing to note is that the entire set list is comprised of only The Beatles songs. There are also no customizations to be made, you play as The Beatles and that's it, though they do change depending on the venue in which your playing. There is also the ability to use up to 3 mics while singing which is something new to Rock Band. In the end the games story mode is what fans will look forward to the most as you follow the career of The Beatles from the beginning to the end, any fan will enjoy watching them grow throughout the years. Much like Guitar Hero's band iterations, there are unlockable photographs and videos. It is obvious it's targeted towards true fans of the band, and true fans will have a great time.

Guitar Hero 5

Guitar Hero 5 is the best guitar hero yet. The amount of additions this game has are amazing. By far the greatest addition to the game is party play mode. Once the game is turned on it will start playing through the library of songs that are available, at any time if you hear a song that you like all you have to do is press one button on your instrument of choice and you'll start playing it. You can add other players, get rid of players, change the difficulty, or change the song, all without the trouble of quitting that the past games have had. This is the most accessible music game to date.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

The games story is about Batman returning The Joker to Arkham Asylum. When things suddenly take a twist as he arrives, the Bat soon realizes that it was all a setup. The Joker intended to go back to what he calls "home" so he can release all the criminals Batman has put away, to destroy him. It's story is basically you being in what would be considered Batman's hell. When it comes to gameplay, it's awesome, the fighting style is crisp and unique along with its graphics. The story is also sharp and exciting, as you encounter some of Batman's greatest foes. There is lots of fun to be had with this game that's for sure. This is as close as you will ever get to feeling like Batman, the developers took there time to give you a truly awesome experience. If there was one thing I'd complain about it would just be that the game isn't long enough. It is with out a doubt the best Batman game ever created.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PSN (PlayStation Network) plays just like it used to back in the day, giving anyone who remembers playing it a nostalgic feeling inside, the game boasts a 50 character roster playable from the beginning. Just as this game was amazing back then it still is today. The game cost $15.

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

As most movie tie-in games, it sucks, plain and simple, its one of those games that was probably rushed and made in a year, the ones made just to milk people for some more money. The controls suck, it has co-op, what more can I say?

Fat Princess

Released on the PSN (PlayStation Network), Fat Princess costs $15 and contains multiple modes along with support for up to 32 players. The game's main mode involves you trying to return your princess home from the enemy and protect her until the time is up while the enemy tries to do the same. You basically have to get the princess from one end to another and keep her there, the problem is the enemy will feed her if they get the chance which in turn makes her fatter, thus making it hard to move her as fast as you'd like. Fat Princess offers hours of fun and excitement for everyone.

The King Of Fighters 12

It was meant to put The King Of Fighters series back on the map but completely failed in that attempt. The game lacks in many aspects, from characters and stages to story and modes. It is not worth the full retail price of $60 with all of its limited content though true fans of the series may still find enjoyment playing against a friend.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a 2D fighting game filled with fast paced action, beautiful design, a bunch of unlockables, great characters, etc. BlazBlue will probably appeal to most fighting fans and maybe even those somewhat interested in fighting games. The controls are fluid and accessible but at the same time can be used for some sick fighting skills. Match replays from online multiplayer can be saved and viewed later in the games replay theater. One thing that makes this game different from most fighting games is how the story mode offers 3 different pathways for each fighter.

Fight Night Round 4

Fight Night Round 4's graphics are incredible, the online is ok, the gameplay is damn near perfect despite not having button controls (though a patch is said to bring them back), the legacy mode is something different but still needs work.

Overlord 2

The game builds upon its predecessor though not to perfection. Nonetheless there is a pretty amusing sex scene and the game offers a variety of customization. It plays through ok with some repetitive seeming gameplay while still having its comedic tone.

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

Your given the choice of playing as either the Autobots or the Decepticons. Like the movie, its about figuring out who or what The Fallen is. One really awesome thing is the ability to switch between each transformation on the fly, its really fun jumping as you transform from a car to a robot. The controls aren't well thought out though, which sucks. The developers should have chosen better controls instead of having one button do three different things. At times it tends to seem somewhat repetitive considering the majority of the game consists of "kill everything", but for those of you who enjoy that this wont be a problem. You'll find fun in the multiplayer due to being able to play against real people instead of the computer, along with its different modes.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Ghostbusters: The Video Game plays out as if its the third film, and really makes you feel as if your a part of the team. The cut-scenes are nice and fun with the original cast of the movies adding there humor. Fans of the movie will love it while non-fans will see a pretty good game.

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits

Guitar Hero: Smash Hits is a compilation of what are considered the best songs from Guitar Hero 1, 2, 3, Rock the 80's, and Aerosmith. What makes this game fun is the fact that now you'll be able to play all the songs you love from those games with the whole band!. This is a real plus for those of us with a love for singing or drumming seeing as how the Guitar Hero franchise has had some truly awesome songs in there older iterations. The only thing that I don't understand is why this wasn't made as DLC (Downloadable Content). The game has nearly 50 songs in total so don't expect anything more. Another not welcomed addition is the fact that now songs that used to be hard aren't as hard which takes away from the competitiveness.

inFAMOUS

Infamous is a sand-box style game (open-world). You play as Cole, a messenger who gets into an accident and comes out with electric powers. Infamous offers upgrades to your powers that truly make you feel powerful, from lightning bolts to lightning grenades along with a karma system that is amazingly fun. The controls are as fluid and simple as anyone can ask for. This game is just pure fun to play through, especially more then once.

UFC 2009: Undisputed

UFC 2009: Undisputed graphics are amazing and it truly captures the real feel of a UFC fight. The roster for this game is incredible, featuring 80 fighters. The controls are good besides the learning curve for grappling, the gameplay is great (especially when you get a flash k.o.). It's a must own for all UFC fans and fighting fans.

Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation does too many things wrong. For starters Christian Bale didn't lend his likeness nor his voice to the main character which makes the game seem kinda stupid considering he is the main star. I personally feel it takes away from the authenticity of what movie games are supposed to be. Next comes the fact that the game can be completed within 4 hours, now the average game nowadays is already short being about 12 hours long so just imagine what 4 hours is like. On top of the game being short it gives players no incentive to go back by offering no replay value. I mean we can deal with short games as long as they have some type of replay value, but this game doesn't. The game does offer co-op, but not online just split-screen so you be the judge of that.

Guitar Hero: Metallica

Guitar Hero: Metallica is filled with Metallicas most loved songs and venues along with the music that influenced them. It supports all Guitar Hero instruments from the mic to the drums. It even has added support for an extra pedal to make drummers feel like Lars Ulrich himself playing double pedal. There's cool on-stage effects to truly make it feel like a Metallica concert. The game doesn't have a huge tack list like the regular Guitar Hero (49 songs) and does not support most DLC (Downloadable Content) but still easily rocks.

The Wheelman

It's story is seriously lacking considering it offers no real reason why your doing the things you do throughout the game. From the start your given a very vague explanation of what the game is about and that explanation will be the only one you'll have. As for gameplay, the game can be fun for a few hours if your bored and have nothing better to do, but that's it. The graphics don't do it justice but you have a series of different moves you can do while in a vehicle such as jump from one vehicle into another or spin your car to shoot behind you and some more, because of these fun elements the graphics don't really bother. Though the game is accessible it is stupid and doesn't even offer multiplayer leaving it as nothing more then a weekend rental.

Street Fighter 4

Street Fighter 4 is extremely fun, once you start playing you wont want to stop, it feels and plays just like it did back in the day only now it has online modes and looks beautiful. Street Fighter 4 is a must own for every system owner.

Skate 2

As with some sequels it improves over the original. Some new elements have been added while leaving what was good as is. You now have the ability to get off your board and walk around which is nice though feels very uncomfortable in the way its executed, the way you have to control your walking and how the camera angle is some of the worst I've seen, its just plain uncomfortable. One plus from being able to get of your board is that now you can move objects around such as ramps, benches, rails, etc. This makes pulling off some crazy trick lines even more fun now that you have more control on how you pull them off. You now have access to even more tricks which is always a plus, hand plants are no possible along with foot plants, hippy jumps, and more. One major "Why would you do that?" is how the games film element that was present in the first game is now being charged for as DLC (Downloadable Content).
